Thank you to everyone who joined our advocacy kickoff meetings last week. Here's a quick recap and what comes next:
What we covered:
The advocacy opportunity: We're asking the Transportation Authority of Marin to fund a planning grant from Measure AA's Reimagined Roadways program for permanent wildlife undercrossing infrastructure on Chileno Valley Road.
Why now: The TAM Board of Commission is setting expenditure priorities for Measure AA now, and just opened their formal public comment period. Their February 26th board meeting (the one we are asking you to attend) is the final meeting before their March funding allocation decision.
Why it matters: A permanent solution means wildlife connectivity to Laguna Lake, relief for volunteers, and an innovative model that can be replicated at amphibian crossings all over the world.
How you can help: Take action by writing letters to the editor, emailing commissioners, submitting formal comments during the Measure AA priority-setting period, attending constituent meetings, and showing up at the February 26th TAM board meeting.
